Dyslexia Specialist and Founder of The Dyslexia Hut
Leah Hicks, M.Ed., is a highly qualified and experienced dyslexia specialist based between Bristol and Bath. With a passion for supporting children with dyslexia, Leah holds a Diploma in Dyslexia Assessment and Intervention, AMBDA status, and is a full member of Patoss and The Dyslexia Guild. Her current Assessors’ Practising Certificate (APC) demonstrates her expertise, competence, and dedication to providing high-quality assessments and support.
As a primary school teacher and mother of two, Leah understands the importance of early identification and intervention for children with dyslexia. She has witnessed firsthand the challenges these children face and is committed to helping them unlock their full potential.

Leah’s diagnostic reports are written in accordance with the latest guidelines from the SpLD Assessment Standards Committee (SASC), ensuring a comprehensive and accurate evaluation of each child’s strengths and difficulties.
She holds a current, active, enhanced DBS certificate and is fully insured with Professional Indemnity and Public Liability Insurance.
With her extensive knowledge, experience, and qualifications, Leah is well-equipped to provide the support and guidance needed for children with dyslexia to thrive in their educational journey. Through The Dyslexia Hut, she offers comprehensive assessments and personalised tutoring sessions to help children and their families navigate the challenges of dyslexia with confidence and success.
